Is countertop two words?

I was excited to see yesterday that my post for ThisTulsa on Exploring some of Tulsa’s Best Wedding Venues was put on a wedding website called The Wedding Times. I don’t know if they are a well visited blog or not, and maybe they just take every wedding article they can find, but I still was glad to contribute to the site.

This past weekend was Kylie’s personal shower at her parent’s lake house. They just got a new pool put in and it’s really incredible. It has stools in the pool that are up against a granite counter top that you can sit out and have drinks or snacks, three levels with water, and a fire pit! They also put in a wood burning oven and a fancy grill. My dad will have to go cook some pizzas over there. The shower was fun, and as you can tell the guests were incredible toilet-paper dress designers.

One of the most exciting things that has happened since the last post I made has to do with Chick-fil-A. Last week they called me at work and said that on August 20 they are going to make the world’s largest glass of lemonade. The Guiness Book of World Records is coming out to judge and certify their accomplishment, and afterwards they are going to divide up the lemonade and sell it in stands. All of the proceeds are going to come to the Little Light House! It’s very exciting. On August 19 (the night before) they are going to have a huge lemon squeezing contest and Chick-fil-A is going to give a prize away to the team who can squeeze about 1000 lemons the fastest. The next day will be the big event. I might even be on the food network by the time this is all finished! It’s very exciting for the Little Light House. If you’re in Tulsa on August 20 be sure to stop by 71st and Garnett to see the huge lemonade glass and support us.

Last week I did end up getting a new car. I decided on a 2007 Hyundai Elantra. Brian helped me a lot in making the decisions, but I was happy because it was cute and gray. Here’s the front:

And here is the side:

Let me tell you, it’s so nice to be driving a car again. Since the day I got the Blazer I knew that I wasn’t an SUV person, and now that I have a car again I feel at home. It’s nice to actually want to spend some time in my car. Plus, it gets about twice as many miles per gallon, which is a really good thing.

I guess that’s all for now. Sorry about the choppy update. I actually wrote this post over a few days so my thought process was interrupted a few times. It seems like I’m more motivated to post lately when I have pictures to back it up, so I’ll try to take more pictures and maybe that will make me even more motivated.
